Oxford Owl

Oxford Owl is a website that allows you to read books for all ages online - from age 3-11 years. If you register during lockdown, you can read them for free! It is a great resource if you have currently completed your school book and looking for something new while learning at home. 

The National Oak Academy

 

This website is offering one free book to read each week online. They are selecting an author, uploading a book written by them to read, plus activities that can be done based on the book, with an interview of the author!

 

Epic Online Library

 

Parents get a 30 day free trial to online reading books - perfect for now during our home learning. All you need to do is sign up and away you go!

BookTrust

 

BookTrust offer free books that can be read online, listened to, or signed.

Author of the Month - KS1

 

This month's author is Jill Murphy.

 

Jill Murphy was born on 5th July 1949 in London. She now lives in Cornwall with her son, Charlie. Murphy has written a large amount of children’s books, including the ‘Worst Witch’ and the ‘Large Family’ series of books. Many of her books have been translated into different languages and made into television series.

Author of the Month - KS2

 

This month's author is Emma Carroll.

 

Emma's first book, which she wrote whilst studying, was 'Frost Hollow Hall', a Victorian ghost story full of mystery! Her latest novel, 'Letters from the Lighthouse' has received great accolades and is set during WW2.
